Josh and Alexandra's Intimate Wedding: A Tale of Love, Family, and Friendship

A Wedding Plan That Fit Their Lives

Josh and Alexandra chose a wedding plan that reflected their values and what made the most sense for their lives. Instead of hosting everything in one big event, they had a private courthouse ceremony followed by portraits in Fells Point, and later shared a relaxed backyard dinner with their closest family and friends. The larger celebration would come a few weeks later. This approach gave them space to enjoy each part of their day without the pressure of a full wedding timeline.

Their story began when Alexandra’s stepfather, Christian, who also worked with Josh, introduced them on a blind date.

Courthouse Ceremony and Fells Point Portraits

We started our photo session after the courthouse ceremony and made our way through the quiet streets of Fells Point. The old brick, cobblestone paths, and harbor views created the perfect atmosphere for their photos. There’s something about Fells Point that blends elegance with authenticity. For couples who love history, water views, and an intimate setting, it’s one of the best photo locations in Baltimore.

After the portraits, the couple hosted a cozy dinner in a small backyard gathering. It was beautifully simple and focused on connection, laughter, and celebration. Moments like these remind us that weddings don’t have to be grand to be meaningful.

Why More Couples Are Splitting Their Wedding Days

More and more couples are choosing to split their weddings into two parts. Some started the trend during the pandemic, while others do it because they’re saving for a house or because their ceremony and reception spaces are far apart. Others don't feel like they have the time they want for the Bride and Groom portraits, so they split the portraits on to another day. This is what we call a "Day after session." For many, having a smaller wedding day followed by a later celebration is a thoughtful way to enjoy the best of both worlds. It offers breathing room for real moments and flexibility for whatever life and the wedding day demands.

Josh and Alexandra’s day was full of genuine emotion and quiet joy. It wasn’t flashy, but it was beautiful. We’re honored to have documented their story, and we’re looking forward to the next chapter when they celebrate with all their people.
